Sr. Energy Strategy Manager, AWS Energy Team
Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive utilities strategy for AWS data centers for AMER regions. Explore and discover new supply opportunities that deliver both near-term capacity with an accelerated path to net-zero carbon supply, converting them into executable energy projects while reducing capital and operating expenses.
Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive utilities strategy for AWS data centers in AMER regions
- Manage multiple utilities, EPC, and Owner’s Engineers to deliver MV/HV power infrastructure
- Develop energy strategies leveraging capital projects (grid connections, substations, storage)
- Establish and grow relationships with utility partners and energy suppliers
- Ensure energy requirements for AWS global infrastructure expansion are met
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering/Business or technical field
- 7+ years in utility/energy industry in commercial or technical role
- 3+ years of power transaction or contracting in US energy markets (PJM, MISO)
- Experience with utility interconnection and grid infrastructure
- Track record of converting energy opportunities into executable projects
Nice to have
- Experience planning or constructing 34.5kV+ energy infrastructure
- Experience with energy storage, demand response, or fuel cells
- Familiarity with renewable energy procurement and PPA structuring
