On-site 5 days per week in Abilene, Texas. Serve as OpenAI’s primary on-site hardware contact, collaborating with Oracle teams and vendors. As the campus matures, help capture lessons learned and develop standards and playbooks to guide hardware operations at future OpenAI infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary on-site hardware contact at Stargate campus
- Collaborate with Oracle teams and third-party vendors on hardware operations
- Capture lessons learned and develop operational standards and playbooks
- Guide hardware operations practices for future OpenAI infrastructure projects
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues in a large-scale GPU cluster environment
Qualifications
- 3+ years in datacenter hardware operations or similar technical operations role
- Experience with server, networking, and storage hardware at scale
- Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
- Willingness to be on-site 5 days per week in Abilene, TX
- Experience working with multiple vendor teams in a co-located environment
